AutoNextG Interactive Circuit Tracer v1
Trace an automotive electrical circuit from its power source through protection, control, connectors and the component to ground. The tracer is designed to work with the AutoNextG Vehicle Data Engine and verified vehicle-specific technical data.
1. Select Vehicle
Year → Make → Model → Engine → Transmission / Drivetrain → Market → System
| Selected Vehicle | 2018 Ford F-150 • 5.0L • North American Market |
|---|---|
| System | Engine & Fuel Injection |
| Circuit | Injector Circuit — prototype example |
| Data Status | Vehicle-specific technical values require approved-source verification |
2. Circuit Path
Battery / Power Feed → Fuse / Protection → Relay / Control Module → Connector → Component → Ground
- Battery / Power Feed — identify the circuit power source.
- Fuse / Protection — identify circuit protection and check its condition.
- Relay / Control Module — identify the switching or control device.
- Connector — identify the applicable connector and interface.
- Component — identify the load or controlled component.
- Ground — identify the return path where applicable.
3. Connection Inspector
| Connection | Information | Test |
|---|---|---|
| Connector | Connector identifier from verified source | Inspect terminals / fit / corrosion |
| Pin | Pin number from verified source | Back-probe or approved test method |
| Circuit | Function of the circuit | Verify expected electrical condition |
| Wire | Wire identification from verified source | Inspect continuity / damage |
| Ground | Ground point/path where documented | Perform approved ground test |
4. Diagnostic Test Panel
- Check power
- Check fuse / protection
- Check ground
- Check connector and terminals
- Check continuity
- Check for short to ground
- Check for short to power
- Check control signal
- Compare measured result with the verified expected value
5. Test Result Branching
| Observed Result | Next Diagnostic Direction |
|---|---|
| Power missing | Trace upstream through protection, feed and switching devices. |
| Fuse open | Determine the correct circuit protection and investigate the cause before replacement. |
| Ground missing | Trace the documented ground path and inspect connections. |
| Continuity open | Trace the circuit between the relevant endpoints. |
| Short detected | Isolate the affected branch using an approved diagnostic procedure. |
| Control signal missing | Check required inputs, module control conditions and the control circuit. |
| Expected electrical conditions present | Continue to the next verified diagnostic test and consider downstream or non-electrical causes. |
6. AI Circuit Assistant
The AI assistant will use the selected vehicle, verified circuit records and the technician’s measured results to recommend the next diagnostic step.
Recommended response format:
- What we know
- Relevant circuit
- Next test
- Expected result from an approved source
- If the result is normal
- If the result is abnormal
- What should not be replaced yet
7. Data Integrity Rules
- Never invent vehicle-specific connector, pin, wire-color, voltage or resistance information.
- Match records to the exact vehicle configuration whenever possible.
- Display a verification status for technical records.
- Do not publish restricted proprietary technical data without appropriate rights.
- Keep technician measurements separate from source technical records.
8. Future Interactive Features
- Clickable circuit components
- Power-flow highlighting
- Connector and pin popups
- Zoomable diagram viewer
- Interactive test-result entry
- Automatic diagnostic branching
- Saved diagnostic sessions
- AI-assisted fault isolation
- Printable diagnostic reports
Safety Notice
Automotive electrical testing can cause injury, vehicle damage or unintended system operation. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s applicable safety procedures and use appropriate test equipment. Airbag/SRS, high-voltage hybrid/EV and other safety-critical systems require additional precautions and verified procedures. AutoNextG guidance does not replace qualified professional service information.
Next Development Layer
