AutoNextG AI Diagnostic Assistant v1
A guided diagnostic workspace that connects an exact vehicle configuration, symptoms, DTCs, verified technical data and technician test results into a structured next-step workflow.
Start a Diagnostic Session
1. Identify the vehicle → 2. Describe the problem → 3. Add DTCs → 4. Select the system → 5. Enter test results → 6. Get the next verified test → 7. Save the session
Vehicle Configuration
| Year | Required |
|---|---|
| Make | Required |
| Model | Required |
| Engine | Required when applicable |
| Transmission / Drivetrain | Use when relevant to the system |
| Market | Canada / United States |
| VIN / Configuration Notes | Use when a diagnostic record is configuration dependent |
Diagnostic Input
- Customer complaint / symptom
- Diagnostic trouble codes
- Warning lights
- Recent repairs or modifications
- Relevant system
- Measurements and inspection results
- Technician observations
Diagnostic Decision Engine
| Finding | Decision Path |
|---|---|
| Vehicle configuration incomplete | Request the missing configuration before vehicle-specific guidance. |
| DTC present | Match the DTC to the selected vehicle/system only when an approved technical record is available. |
| Power missing | Trace upstream through the verified power-feed path. |
| Ground missing | Trace the verified ground path. |
| Continuity failure | Trace the verified circuit between endpoints. |
| Short detected | Follow the applicable approved isolation procedure. |
| Control signal missing | Check documented inputs, enable conditions, module control and circuit integrity. |
| Expected result present | Move to the next applicable test rather than automatically replacing a component. |
AI Response Format
- What we know — summarize the confirmed information.
- Relevant system/circuit — identify the applicable verified record.
- Next test — give one clear next action.
- Expected result — show the value or condition only when supported by an approved technical source.
- If normal — give the next branch.
- If abnormal — give the next branch.
- Do not replace yet — identify parts that are not confirmed faulty.
Example Diagnostic Session
Example vehicle: 2018 Ford F-150 • 5.0L • North American market
Complaint: Engine cranks but does not start.
Example DTC: P0203.
Observed result: Technician reports injector power is present but control activity has not been confirmed.
Assistant workflow: confirm the exact configuration → verify the applicable injector circuit record → identify the approved test for control activity → record the measured result → branch to the next test. The assistant must not invent a vehicle-specific pin, wire color, voltage or resistance value.
Circuit Tracer Integration
When a diagnostic path reaches an electrical circuit, the assistant can hand the session to the Interactive Circuit Tracer:
Vehicle → System → Component → Connector → Pin → Circuit → Test → Result → Next Test
Diagnostic Session Output
- Vehicle configuration
- Complaint and symptoms
- DTCs
- Relevant system and circuit
- Tests performed
- Measurements entered by technician
- Verified technical references used
- AI-guided next steps
- Final diagnosis and repair notes
Guardrails
- Never present an unverified AI-generated value as vehicle-specific fact.
- Ask for missing information instead of guessing.
- Separate confirmed findings from possible causes.
- Do not automatically recommend parts replacement without diagnostic evidence.
- Use exact vehicle configuration before applying vehicle-specific technical information.
- Respect source licensing and publication rights.
- Apply additional safety warnings and approved procedures for SRS, high-voltage EV/hybrid and other safety-critical systems.
My Garage Integration
Completed diagnostic sessions will be designed to save to My Garage with the vehicle, complaint, DTCs, tests, measurements, notes and final repair information. Saved records will remain associated with the appropriate user or shop account.
Product Roadmap
- Connect to live searchable vehicle records.
- Connect to verified technical-data sources.
- Build interactive symptom and DTC intake.
- Connect diagnostic decisions to the Circuit Tracer.
- Save complete sessions in My Garage.
- Add technician/shop collaboration.
- Add reports and export features.
- Add voice-assisted diagnostics after the core workflow is reliable.
Safety Notice
Automotive diagnosis and electrical testing can cause injury, vehicle damage or unintended system operation. Follow applicable manufacturer procedures, use appropriate equipment and verify conditions before testing. This assistant is intended to support diagnosis, not replace qualified technicians or authorized service information.
